Someone unknown benefactor left this children’s book, Nicky the Jazz Cat, at Cindy’s place a couple of weeks ago, much to our delight. It’s a fun series of photos of Nicky, the cat of photographer Carol Friedman, posing with various jazz greats, including Lionel Hampton, Lena Horn and Roy Eldridge. There’s also a companion CD…

It’s a shame when folks throw out a perfectly good cat
Cat’s gonna cat.
No fun being a black cat in the summertime
My cat Mole Negro is stunned by the summer heat. Sorry, kid. Time to install the AC, I guess.
Mole = Chococat?
Cindy has been looking after my cat Mole Negro for a few days. She says he always has a stupid look on his face like the Japanese character Chococat. That’s appropriate since Mole was named after a Mexican sauce that includes chocolate as one of its main ingredients. What do you think?
My kitty avatar at “Fandomania” art show

My cat Mole is taking it somewhat in stride, although he isn’t really being very welcoming. We’ll keep them seperated for a day or so and see how they are getting on tomorrow. More kitty…

We call the boy Frankie, after legendary lindy hopper Frankie Manning, since he’s very energetic and a big jumper. The girl we call Dawn, after dancer and singer Dawn Hampton…
