I invited myself along for a photo trip up to Yosemite with my dad and his wife yesterday. We were in search of the elusive dogwood flower, a blossom (actually a white colored leaf) that blooms for a very short window in early May. Luckily, we caught them just in time as they were in nearly peak bloom. It was a fantastic day trip full of amazing views, perfect shooting weather, and constant discoveries along the way.
This was the first time I've done a photo shoot with both my first gen Canon digital rebel SLR and my iPhone 4 (with a custom mini-tripod). I have to say, I'm not sure which camera's shots I like better. The Canon wins for versatility and overall control. But the HDR setting on the iPhone pulls in so much more detail on the vista shots.
Check my unedited pics from the trip to see for yourself. My dad also took a bunch of pics of me doing handstands at several locations that was a lot of fun to do.
Now that I realize how easy it is, I'm dying to go back to Yosemite for some actual hiking and exploring.
