Update from folks who are close by Frankie Manning in the hospital:
As you might have heard, Frankie entered the hospital a week and a half ago, due to problems with his
medication. Then on Friday, he was taken into the intensive care unit after
he developed pneumonia. It is a very serious situation. Although he cannot talk or
move his limbs, he recognizes people and responds to their messages of
caring and love. Throughout all of this his spirit remains strong and
his family and close friends are with him.

Sad updated news, Frankie has gone into a coma. He has his family and loves ones with him. Please keep him in your thoughts.

Frankie was bigger than life. It feels like his passing somehow left a big hole in the planet and it’s hard to imagine how life could possibly continue without him here. Surely the Earth’s rotation is off it’s axis by the huge blank space left by his departure. Although he was shy about accepting compliments, he leaves a legacy I think even he would be proud of.
I’ve never met a better human being than Frankie Manning, and I’m honored he considered me his friend.
