I had a remarkable day in Washington DC for Martin Luther King Jr Day. It started out with a wonderful series of performances at the National Cathedral to celebrate Dr King, including spoken word, drumming, a choir, hip hop violin playing and more. So inspiring and fun. The National Cathedral has always been one of my favorite spots in DC.
I met up with my friends David, Kim, Keith and Amy at the Cathedral. From there we headed down to the National Mall to see the preparations for the inauguration tomorrow. There was a definite buzz in the air as people milled about, took pictures, and bought souvenirs. It was awesome imagining the Mall area filled with several million people.
Along the way, Dave and Kim got in a little lindy hop, and I did some breaking in the Mall.
Now gotta get a couple hours of sleep before rising super early to catch the Inauguration tomorrow!
