Had a very smooth time voting in Fort Greene at PS 11. Lots of other folks were in long lines, but my district had only one person ahead of me! Took me 45 seconds to vote, and another 10 to take this picture.
We are still using the ancient "ca-chunk-a-chunk" mechanical machines that look like Benjamin Franklin invented them. It makes such a satisfying "clank" when your vote is cast, like it weighs something. So satisfying.
Apparently they don’t give out the "I VOTED" stickers anymore, which was very disappointing. I was planning on being smug about it all day.
Tonight, we are having a fun electoral watching party at the Global Kids office. Can’t think of where else I would rather be.
