I got the news that the somewhat awkwardly-named Swiss non-profit noWomannoLife has launched a Second Life photo contest for the "best Second Life screenshot that represents the value of women." More specifically, the photo should address the following questions:
- How do you see women in Second Life?
-
How does this virtual world helps us better understand their invaluable
role in our families and societies? - How does it help discover even more
their huge potential for the future?
This image above exemplifies for me the transformative power of virtual
worlds to enable women to create second careers and identities as
artists, fashion designers, musicians, DJs, models or builders,
whatever their real life circumstances.
The winner receives L$5,000. Submissions due on May 15 with a public announcement of the winner on June 17. More info at http://www.seedlearn.org/photo2l.
