Phil Rice of Machiniplex.com sent me the news that the feature length machinima film "Bloodspell" will be premiering on October 21 on Machiniplex, with a release party happening in Second Life at Hathead sim (teleport SLURL):
Join us for the celebration of the premiere / release party for Strange Company’s "Bloodspell" feature edition! Maybe
you’ve seen the series, or maybe not… Either way, you can preview the
movie on October 21 at Machiniplex.com, and then join us for the live
event! We’ll have live discussions and a cocktail party in
Second Life (to allow for text+voice chat for a large group) from
11a-1p PDT / 7-9p GMT as well as exclusive behind-the-scenes content
posted on Machiniplex3.blogspot.com.
If you haven’t checked it out, Machiniplex is a great aggregator of some of the best machinima videos out there in a simple but effective format. What it lacks though, is the experience of watching a film with other people, which is a distinct advantage of Second Life, as I’ve blogged about before.
Seems like a really fun event, and a great way to celebrate an epic machinima project that has been at least a couple of years in the making.
(One side note: I like that the creators Strange Company have released "Bloodspell" under a Creative Commons attribution, non-commercial license, meaning that other people can feel free to use, re-mix and mash-up the video. Sweet!)
