Although I dance A LOT, I don’t usually perform, which tends to confuse people who ask about my dancing. Most of my dance activity is confined to social dancing at swing music venues and the occasional party or club. So it’s rare to see me dancing in public (
with the exception of the Apollo Theater two weeks ago.)
That said, I’ll be performing a breakdance routine with six other b-boys and girls on Thursday, November 15 and Sunday, November 18 at PMT Dance Studio‘s Fall Showcase, along with our awesome instructor Pavan Thimmaiah, pictured here.
Tickets are only $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Pavan says that seating is very limited, so it is strongly advised that you purchase tickets early. Along with our performance, there will be other styles onstage, from modern to tap to African. Should be a really fun time. See the website for details.
This is assuming I survive the preparations. I’ve got a grueling schedule of classes and practice from now until the performances. I’ve got all sorts of fun bruises and sore spots already. Pavan says that this is just part of the learning process. If only it were as easy and painless as having your avatar breakdance.
You’re going to be awesome.
