Above is a video of a dance jam at the Herrang Dance Camp from 2005. That’s where I’m headed tonight!
My buddy Tomo and I are flying off to the Herrang International Dance Camp, a yearly gathering that brings together a 1,000 of the most die-hard lindy hop swing dancers from around the world to a tiny town in Sweden called Herrang. For five weeks, we take over the town, swing dancers from all over the world dancing their hearts out, taking classes and enjoying each other’s company.
This year is the 25th anniversary of the Herrang Dance Camp, so I promised myself I would make it after dancing lindy hop for nearly 10 years. I’m going for a week, then spending a few more days in Stockholm, which I hear is a lovely city.
Reportedly there is wifi in the camp, so I’ll be blogging and posting pics as frequently as I’m able. Woo hoo!
