Ana Herzog sends me info about a fun progressive political action in SL, "Impeach on the Beach."  The feminist activist group Code Pink invites avatars to gather at Mikianna Island in Second Life to help spell out the word "IMPEACH" lying head-to-toe on the beach.  The event is this Sunday, May 6, starting at noon PST.  An impeachment party will follow at 1pm.  Pink beach attire is encourage.

This is my avatar in a pink slip from the January protest against the war in Iraq.  Yes, I know, dead sexy.

The call for impeachment of Bush and Cheney comes to the
online world of Second Life this weekend at Impeach On The Beach. Individuals from many of the progressive
groups who have a presence in Second Life will line up sun bathing avatars head
to toe to spell out the word Impeach for those who do not yet “get” that peace
can now only be achieved by impeachment. The event will occur on a beach on Mikianna Island in the virtual world of Second
Life midday Sunday, May 6th, 2007. Time in SL corresponds with that of the offices of Linden Labs, a
software company based in the San Francisco area.

The pixelated impeachment action will happen between 12 noon
and 2 p.m. Media are welcome at this
initial event where photography and interviews will be encouraged.

An Impeachment Party open to the general public of SL will
take place between 1 and 2 p.m. Tunes
will be spun by DJ Dena Dana. Information stations focused on impeachment, peace, and other
progressive topics will dispense information and memorabilia.

Pink beach attire is encouraged. This event is being coordinated by CODEPINK
SL and Casita Gaia Boutiques and is made possible through the generous
donations of: Fatz Scheflo & Fatz
City, Charly Santana
& Soccer Club SL, Morris Vig & Oyster Bay, and Netroots SL.
