I watched again Friedrich Kirschner’s spectacular machinima "the Journey" last night. It’s been floating around in my head ever since.
It strikes me that it’s a good allegory for media reform. Little stick figures pointlessly race around a bleak valley while giant monitors display banal images at them. A sign tells them to "Never leave the Valle." Meanwhile one of the stick figures struggles up the valley and escapes. You’ll have to download it to see what happens next.
I love Friedrich’s work. It’s very poetic and incredibly well done.
Still, his fish animation at the machinima festival has to be his best work yet 😉
