For folks on the lefty-side of the political spectrum, there’s a virtual space for gathering with other organizers and activists in Second Life at RootsCamp on Better World Island. Here’s how they describe it:
RootsCamps are 2006 post-election debriefs. Progressives —
everyone from the "netroots" to precinct captains to field organizers
to national message consultants — is invited to come together to hash
out what we learned in 2006 and how to apply those lessons going
forward. RootsCampSL will take place for a week
following the election, starting Nov. 8th.
Come by tomorrow, Thursday November 9, at 1PM PST, to talk about the results of the election on Tuesday. They posted a quick report of today’s meeting and a draft schedule for the coming week. The organizers Drew Frobrozz and Ruby Glitter are very open to suggestions. (I should know better than to open by big trap, if I want to avoid getting volunteered for stuff.)
I kept my big trap closed … BTW, do you think the Machinima session might run longer than an hour? I can’t get there until 2 or possible 2:30?
