For the second year in a row I’ve gone to the Marin County Fair for my birthday. This year I actually got to on my actual birthday, July 3, which made it extra special.
My friends Kenny and Kacie were sweet enough to accompany me this year. We had a solid plan: eat funnel cake, watch the pig races, see the main concert, and watch the fireworks. Everything else would be gravy on top of that.
It was actually a very chill day at the fair. Crowds were low, lines were almost non-existent, and the weather was perfect — warm and sunny. We got there around 3pm, having scored free parking at a local mal shopping center (thanks Mel and Cynthia for the tip!). And we quickly accomplished goal #1.

We hit up the pig races, which were as fun as they always are.

We rode a few rides.

Love this timelapse that Kenny took.
We had fun in the very cheesy Star Wars exhibit.

We closed out the day at the main stage concert, for the headliner: TLC! Sadly thousands of others had the same idea, so we didn’t have great sight lines. Still it was super fun.

We closed the evening with fireworks over the lake. So pretty!

Such an awesome birthday mini-adventure! I love the Marin County Fair.
