Here are some pics from the Machinima Festival final awards ceremony last night, that look place in the real Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, NY and was simulcast in a packed Virtual Laguna Beach Theater in Second Life. I was on a somewhat sketchy wifi connection in Greece, but it seemed like a great event in both worlds.
Congrats to all the winners, especially KBS Productions in France for bringing home the "Best Picture" prize, as well as several other "Mackies," for their film "The Adventures of Bill & John: Danger Attacks at Dawn." Kudos also to Eric at Linden Labs for bringing home the "best commercial" Mackie for "Silver Bells and Golden Spurs."
More pics after the jump….
Crowded house during the awards ceremony!
Jackie Turnure, producer of "Stolen Life," hung out with us in the Laguna Beach Theater.
Robbie Dingo, creator of nominated "Better Life" was in attendance as well.
The Electric Sheep guys were clearly taking advantage of the open bar during the festival.
The illustrious Walker Spaight of 3PointD says hi from one world to another.
