It's 4am and I'm chilling with my friends Beckto and Spuds in our hotel room after the late night dance on the first night of the Swing and Soul weekend, listening to Stevie Wonder and other soul jams. So nice.
Swing and Soul is a weekend long celebration of soul music and "dancing with soul" in Atlanta. I'm already exhausted and elated by how cool this event is.
Tonight we had some incredible performances by hiphop innovator Popin' Pete and African dancers and drummers led by Mama Yeye, along with a cool mix of music, from funk to R&B, hip-hop and soul music of various flavors.
Looking forward to "soul session" classes, soul food, and lots more dancing to awesome music with awesome dancers.

Hahaha! is that the night we drank Colt45. Or was it the next night? 🙂
I thought it was Schlitz. Whatever it was, it was not good.
