My pal Manu and I, after a two year hiatus, have resuscitated the “Yehoodi Talk Show,” an internet talk radio program on all things new and fun the world of swing and lindy hop dancing. Since I moved to Switzerland and he moved to San Francisco, doing the show together seemed impossible.
But then came skype. And suddenly doing the show from his pad in San Francisco and my place in downtown Manhattan seemed almost feasible.
We’re still working out the kinks. Doing a two-person show without being able to see the other guy is more of a challenge. Maybe we’ll add webcams to at least get some facial feedback. And the sound quality on the first one isn’t so good since the area mic on my iBook isn’t that great.
But all-in-all it feels good to be “back on the air” after so long. I wonder if our ten listeners missed us?
Tune in your podcast to http://www.yehoodi.com/talk/rss.xml to download the latest show. We’ll try and upload them as MP3s as well, for those who are podcast-phobic. We hope to do two shows a month.
You can also get our archived shows going back to the 1998, including several rare interviews with some swing legends like Junior Mance and Frankie Manning.
