My buddy Frank (aka Ill Bixby) and some of his creative cronies at Ill Clan productions have put together a hilarious virtual talk show using a 3D-rendering game engine call TrashTalk with ILL Will. The show features Ill Will and his sidekick / missile Mal, a comedy duo that poke fun at the world of gaming and internet culture from the inside.
I love the combination of the cheesy talk show format, improv sounding banter, and crisp 3D animation. Their recent episode on the release of the new Nintendo "wii" game system was a very clever variation of "who’s on first."
Computer gaming is certainly a genre that is ripe for send-up, with its overblown hype, frenzied fans all over the world, and bizarre sub-culture. They already have a competitor, a talk show set in the world of the X-Box game Halo entitled "This Spartan Life."
