I’m very sad to report that both Ike and Tina, the six-week-old kittens I was fostering for City Critters, have passed away. Sadly, they both succumbed to Feline Distemper , presumably because they were not vaccinated earlier. Tina was lethargic from the get-go, but we were very surprised that Ike also died since he was so full of life and crazy kitty energy. When you get distemper that young, you just aren’t strong enough to fight it, I guess.
There’s a small chance that my cat Mole might contract the virus from them, but unlikely since he had very little contact with them. Still, we’re getting him re-vaccinated today. Sigh.

I’m sorry for your loss. 🙁
That could be the saddest thing I’ve read on any blog, ever.
Thanks, Moo and Jeff. We really did hardly know them. I was happy to provide them with a tiny bit of comfort and entertainment on their few days on the planet.
