Poinky Malaprop, coordinator of the Kuurian Expeditions, sends me info that at their next meeting tomorrow evening (Tuesday Oct 10), they will feature a presentation "The Metaverse Roadmap Project: Pathways to the 3D Web" by Snoopybrown Zamboni / Jerry Paffendorf:
In May of 2006 the Acceleration Studies Foundation began the process of mapping the metaverse space of video game, virtual world, geospatial, and web technologies with an invitational Metaverse Roadmap Summit at SRI. Project founder Jerry Paffendorf will fill us in on progress so far, where the project came from, meta-questions about the roadmap he’s been asking himself, where he hopes to take it in 2007 and beyond, and how you can get involved.
Jerry always blows my mind with his musings on where the metaverse is headed. The discussion will take place at 7PM SL time (10pm Eastern) at Gonick Amphitheatre, Learning (115,96,25). If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Poinky Malaprop.
