Thanks, everyone, who came out for the first of two Second Life events in conjunction with the Machinima Festival this weekend in New York. We had a great time, and we hope you did too! Special thanks to the machinimators Phil Rice, Jackie Turnure, Jonah Gold, and Harrison Heller (pictured above) for coming in-world to present your works. It was great hearing about how you prepared your films, which all were incredibly entertaining.
Meanwhile, there will be more mixed reality madness on Saturday, when the Electric Sheep Company broadcasts into the Laguna Beach theater live video from the Machinima Fest. The main event is the awards ceremony at 9pm EST, but also notable are several interesting side-events. I’m excited about the panel on intellectual property issues and machinima.
