I just ran across an amazing new build called "Virtual Morocco" on the Casablanca sim (teleport SLURL). Created as an initiative of faculty and students at Johnson and Wales University in partnership with the Moroccan ministry of tourism, Virtual Morocco is one of the most immersive real world places in Second Life that I’ve ever visited, They have created an enormous mosque, a souk market, a traditional residential area (including satellite dishes on every roof!), a couple of soccer fields, and of course a cafe where you can relax with a hookah pipe.
I’ll be posting more pictures and updating my "Real World Places in SL" HUD later. Meanwhile, here’s some cool pictures from Flickr. Go check it out!
I went last week and it was amazing. That idea has potential, don’t you think?
I would love to have a performance by some traditional Moroccan musicians, complete with virtual belly dancers!
That’s funny .. I have an outfit that is middle eastern in style and was looking for a belly dancing animation ..
I’d love to build Angkor Watt .. but that’s a project for another day.
