Today at noon the 110th Congress opens with an ambitious "100 hour" agenda being pushed by the majority Democrats. Among the initiatives the Dems hope to push through are an increase in the minimum wage, support for stem cell research, and enacting the 9/11 Commission recommendations.
Meanwhile, in Second Life, the marketing firm Clear Ink is organizing a virtual viewing of the opening of the Congress at noon, followed by a briefing with Representative George Miller (D – 7th District, CA) and possibly Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. From the video above, the Capitol building sim (teleport SLURL) looks a bit cheesy and thrown together, so hopefully the Clear Ink designers have perked it up a bit.
The Capitol Hill sim opens to the public tomorrow, January 5. Hey, anything beats watching C-SPAN.
