Today at 2pm PST is the culmination of a weekend of peace activities, organized by the nice folks at SL Netroots. Take a few minutes out of your day and come out at 2pm if you oppose the war in Iraq, or just want to stand up for peace
in general. We’ll be convening at Progressive Island before heading out to Capitol Hill for the demonstration.
If you’re lucky, you might even see me in this fetching outfit.
The real life demonstration in DC on Saturday, organized by the group United for Peace and Justice, looked like a fabulous event, gathering tens of thousands of people in peaceful protest. Meanwhile NPR reports this weekend on how Iraq is both "a uniter and a divider" for both Republican and Democratic members of Congress.
