I just got word from my buddy Frankyboy that his machinima crew Ill Clan Productions have teamed up with the virtual world marketing group the Electric Sheep Company as their resident in-house machinimators. I’m a huge fan of Ill Clan’s work, especially "Trash Talk", so I’m super excited to see them creating more Second Life machinima with the Sheep. They have already been involved in a number of productions, including the "Two and a Half Men" promo aired during the pre-game at the Super Bowl and the Star Trek spoof shown at CES.

Creator of Virtual World Content Teams With Machinima Masters
Tuesday February 13, 8:01 am ET
The Electric Sheep Company and the ILL Clan Join Forces to Provide
Machinima and Animation Solutions to Growing Client Base
pioneer of the machinima (machine+cinema) process, has joined The
Electric Sheep Company, the leading creator of virtual world content.
ILL Clan Inc. will become the machinima division of The Electric
Sheep Company. It will work with the company’s growing portfolio of
brand-name clients to produce machinima from virtual worlds such as
Second Life for re-broadcast, promotions, events and entertainment. To
date, the ILL Clan and The Electric Sheep Company have jointly created
machinima for clients such as MTV, CBS and NBC. Examples of the work
can be found here:

Creating machinima in a virtual world is a real-time 3D
film-making process, all conducted on a virtual film set: the set
designers arrange the shot with the help of the director and
cinematographer, the actors get into costume and when the shot looks
right, the director calls action and the scene begins. The individuals
involved may be in different physical locations but they are
connected, and able to collaborate, via a shared 3D virtual world.
"By joining The Electric Sheep Company, we now have access to the
best creators of virtual world experiences and programs," said Matt
Dominianni, co-founder of ILL Clan Inc. and newly appointed Director
of Creative, Machinima at The Electric Sheep Company.
"More and more clients were asking us to produce machinima in the
virtual worlds we built for them, so we wanted to bring in the best,
most experienced and creative machinima team available," said Sibley
Verbeck, CEO of The Electric Sheep Company. "The ILL Clan fits these
criteria to the letter. The team is creative, energetic and focused on
providing quality work for clients."
Frank Dellario, president of ILL Clan Inc. and newly appointed
Director of Production, Machinima at The Electric Sheep Company said:
"The ILL Clan team has many years of film industry experience. By
taking our experience, processes and production expertise into virtual
worlds, we are helping to accelerate the next wave of entertainment
content."
The ILL Clan will also bring original machinima characters and
content to virtual worlds. The first initiative will see the ILL
Clan’s popular gaming news and comedy talk show, Tra5hTa1k, performed
live in Second Life for a virtual audience.
