The UN World Food Programme every year organizes a "Walk the World" fundraiser / awareness raising event to draw attention to the problem of famine and hunger around the world. In towns and cities all over the planet, people gather to walk in support of humanitarian aid and development assistance for the most needy.
This May 13, for the first time, residents in Second Life can also participate in a virtual walk, gathering in the Pooley Auditorium. No word on if you can donate Linden dollars to this effort. Contact Fight Hunchke in SL for more details.
I like how in their world map, they didn’t know where to put Second Life, so they placed it in the North Pole. Maybe Santa will join us!
