“Date a Designer” fundraiser for cancer research tomorrow (Saturday) in SL

Posted on April 6, 2007 by

SlrflI got this notice about a neat fundraiser as part of the American Cancer Society’s "Relay for Life" activities in SL. Now you too can hang out with the beautiful people — yes, you can date a designer:

This Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 12 PM SLT you can add the ultimate designer accessory to your ensemble: The Designer. Join us, Shopaholics, in a spirit of good-natured frivolity on the
beautiful island sim of Nuka Hiva in a landmark event where 10 or so of
SL’s high profile designers will be auctioned off for a date with their
highest bidder. Be in your best luau beachwear and bring your wallets
to snag a a once-in-a-second lifetime opportunity to spend a few hours
to get to know your favorite designer personally.

Among the talented designers taking part are: Aradia Dielli (Perfect Image); Blaze Columbia (Blaze Fashions); Canimal Zephyr (Canimal); Colleen Desmoulins (The Loft); Digit Darkes (X3D Apparel); Forseti Svarog (Figments); Isabella Sampaio (Face of L’Oréal Paris in SL); Lucas Lameth (Earthtones Boutique); Pushbutton Skolnick (Pushbutton Industries); Shai Delacroix (Casa del Shai) and Truth Hawks (Truth).

Thanks for the head’s up Catero Revolution!

    Rik,
On behalf of the Shopaholics Relay for Life teams I want to personally thank you for your part in blogging today’s Date-a-Designer date auction. It was an absolutely fun event.
    (Wish you hadd been there.)
With your help we raised over a whopping 1M Lindens to cancer research! I feel like, through today’s date auction and all the initiatives that are going on across the grid, we are really kicking a significant part of cancer’s ass.
    HI5!
