KattenPejst from Sweden did a cool interview with my friend Cynthia Millman, co-author of the amazing autobiography Frankie Manning: Ambassador of Lindy Hop. You can find it on KattenPejst’s cool blog "Swing, Jazz and Blues." The autobiography is now available on Amazon and other bookstores soon.
Clearly a labor of love, Cynthia has devoted more than a decade’s worth of work bringing this book to fruition. I personally am enormously grateful for this documentation of lindy hop history, which I think will continue to educate and inspire dancers long after Frankie, Cynthia and I pass on.
For those that don’t know, I am helping organize a campaign to get folks to buy the book on Frankie’s 93rd birthday this May 26. Our goal is to make it a best-seller for the day, which we think would be a fine birthday present. That’s about a week away, so mark your calendars!
