I’ve been thinking about how this is turning into the summer of transitions for me. My awesome roommate Paul Marino is heading off for the Great White North to seek his machinima fame and fortune. And I’m leaving my cool Financial District apartment at the end of August, after more than three years there.
Most importantly my program coordinator position at the Social Science Research Council in their media research program is coming to an end sometime soon. It’s been a great learning experience for me, particularly managing my first grantmaking process and getting exposed to all the various media justice networks and coalitions around the United States and around the world. It’s been wonderful knowing that in my own small way I have been supporting the wider movement to create more democratic media and communications systems. And of course it has been an honor to be associated with the SSRC, an incredible institution that for more than 80 years has built bridges between the public policy and academic spheres.
FYI, my program is hiring a new Program Officer. Please apply, if you think you qualify.
