Suzanne Vega returns to Second Life July 13!

This Friday July 13, at 4PM PST, Suzanne Vega returns to Second Life to celebrate the release of her seventh album "Beauty and Crime" (love the album cover and art BTW).  From the press release:

Beautyandcrime
Users are invited to stop by to interact with Vega
who will be hanging and chatting on the virtual Ludlow Street, one of
the many NYC locales that inspired the songs on Vega’s new CD. Every
visitor will receive a free player for BEAUTY & CRIME which can be
used to outfit their avatars or to host a listening party of their own.
Users can also create their own musical street graffiti, explore the
sounds of the city, and watch concert footage recorded live at the Hiro Ballroom.

For longtime Vega fans like me, it’s a huge thrill seeing her perform — live, on TV, in avatar form, wherever.  She’s just a class act and a tremendous talent. And I like that they have added more interactive features for avatars to play with this time around.

Head to http://cruxy.com/suzannevega to RSVP to ensure you get a spot.  The full press release follows.

In August 2006, Vega was the first major recording artist to ever perform in Avatar in the online virtual world, and write a spirited piece about SECOND LIFE’s creator Phillip Rosedale in TIME MAGAZINE’s Time 100 this past May.

Second Life attendance to the in-person event is by invite only. You may request an invitation through Cruxy at: http://cruxy.com/suzannevega.

For users without Second Life-capability, you will be able to access a web-based live stream during the event. A recording will also b posted after the event on the http://cruxy.com/suzannevega page.
