Yesterday I had literally five sci-fi/fantasy books offered to me by friends who thought I would like them. It’s so great having friends who know what your tastes are and loan you stuff from their collections.
Last night, Frankyboy loaned me three more Lone Wolf and Cub mangas, which are so beautifully drawn and scripted I can hardly stand it. The tiny books are insidiously easy to start and impossible to put down.
Meanwhile, Tomo finished her British-English version of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and loaned it to me. I’ll be attentive to the British-isms that were edited out of the American version. Having just watched the "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" movie, I’m itching to finish the book series. She says its a tear-jerker.
Finally, RubyMae is a few pages from finishing Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, a clever and witty re-visioning of the Oz universe. She says its right up my alley.
As soon as I get through the excellent Broken Angels by Richard K. Morgan, I’ll start busting into whatever is next on my book stack.
So many books, so little time…
