I just got home from celebrating with friends after my breakdance performance tonight at PMT Studios. I’m so proud of my team members — Eli, Trevor, Matt, Eugene and Will — who all just killed it tonight. And I’m happy that I performed my parts well, including the Pavan freeze that I blogged about yesterday!
Lots of the credit for our performance goes to our teacher Pavan Thimmaiah for putting together such a great routine, teaching us the choreography and tricks, and mixing the songs for the piece. He brings out great things in people.
Pavan actually had custom shirts made for all of us for this routine, with our b-boy names on the back. Mine had to be "Rikomatic" of course. The number 13 has no real significance to me, other than I think it looks cool.
I got to see some of the other performance groups tonight, which is always a treat. I love getting exposed to other dance forms that I know very little about. Tonight there some incredible contemporary pieces on stage, as well as a great popping routine by Levi Clairborne.
Another b-boy Matt took a bunch more pictures that I hope he shares soon. And hopefully the video will be finished quickly! I can’t wait to see how we did.
Now I’m looking forward to NOT practicing every night!
