I just got a link to my friend Adriana’s first post as Gadget Editor on the cell phone blog PhoneDog.com. She covers the recent launch party for the T-mobile G1 Google Android phone, giving some nice flavor of what the geekarati event what like as well as fondling the phone herself. Adriana also posted recently an interesting story about an Ohio teen who was arrested for taking naked pictures of herself on her cell phone and sending them to friends.
Congrats on the new gig, Adriana! I looking forward to more nerdy gadget goodness from you in the future.
In related news, my friend Westiegirl got her own G1 Android phone as well, so I got to try out some of the swell features. I just LOVE Google Maps Streetview, which is (as Swifty would say) totally The Future. Yes, the hardware seems a bit clunky and brick-like. But the UI and apps look totally rad, and the physical keyboard seems much more practical than the virtual keyboard on the iPhone.
Were I not totally enamored with my iPhone, I would seriously think about getting an Android-powered cell.
