Ok, I’m officially excited about performing as a zombie doing the classic "Thriller" dance routine. I will be joining a hundred or so other zombie-fied revelers in the Halloween Parade this Friday in Greenwich Village, courtesy of the nice folks at ThrillerNYC.com. My friends tell me it’s an amazing experience dancing Thriller in the parade, so I can’t wait!
But first I had to learn the routine. Today I attended a practice session with 80 or so other people at Chelsea Piers. Okay, it’s kind of challenging, but not really impossible to learn if you are moderately coordinated and pay attention. I’ll go to maybe one more practice before Friday and just concentrate on figuring out what to wear and what makeup to use.
I had forgotten what an amazing music video "Thriller" was for its time. Basically a short film, directed by John Landis, it set the gold standard for music videos for years to come, and still holds up as a creepy and entertaining piece. Certainly some of Michael Jackson’s best work.
