Here's another tip for those of you headed to Washington DC for the Presidential Inauguration this Tuesday:
The evening of January 20 is full of pricey inaugural balls starting at $150 and up. Well if you have forgotten to pack your ball gown or your wallet is feeling a bit light, you might want to head over to the Jam Cellar's "Black and White Inaugural Ball" and benefit for Washington Parks & People. The admission is a measly six bucks (you might want to drop a bit more in the bucket to benefit the nonprofit center.)
The evening will feature hot swing dance music spun by local DJs Jerry Almonte and Mike Marcotte to get you warmed up after a chilly day on the Mall. If your jitterbug is a bit rusty, there is a free beginner's lesson from 9-9:30pm. Dancing from 9 to midnight. I'll be there, so save me a dance!
The Jam Cellar is at the Josephine Butler Parks Center, at 2437 Fifteenth Street, NW, across from Meridian Park in Washington, DC (Google Maps link). Head to the Jam Cellar website for more info or read the complete announcement after the jump…
