Just got this urgent call from my friend Tori at USC who needs student volunteers from outside the US for a study she is doing on virtual environments this coming week. Please help her out if you can:
Please contact Tori Horton at horton.tori @gmail.com if you are interested or can connect her with students who might be. The full message from her is after the jump…
Dear Student,
Have you heard about a 3D virtual community called Second Life?
Interested in trying it out?
Planning on trying it out?
Worried it will take up all your time?
Interested in participating in a research study on how you learn and interact within Second Life and thereby giving your initial exploration a dual purpose?!
Want to be apart of potentially ground breaking research in communication technology?
If you are interested – please contact Tori Horton at horton.tori@ gmail.com with your name, email, phone number in order to participate in this study to research interactions within a 3D virtual environment. You must be between the ages of 18-26, can converse in basic English, and are new to Second Life.
Your participation is voluntary and your information will remain confidential. Your participation may take 1-3 hours and you may make a friend! You can be apart of the experiment on any machine that can run Second Life – even from the comfort of your own home. Tori will give you further instructions and set up an appointment for your participation.
Our first round of participants will be scheduled for Feb 20-28. Please let Tori know your preferred date and time.
Thank you very much!
