Man, if I didn't already have an awesome position, I would be applying for this dream job: Program Coordinator of the Buckminster Fuller Challenge. Essentially you get to give out $100,000 to someone who has come up with a strategy to solve one of humanity's greatest challenges. You pay people to save the planet.
That's a job I can imagine being really exciting and rewarding … and a ton of work. Your duties are to wade through the hundreds and hundreds of applications that come in and coordinate what must be a complicated and lengthy selection process. I've had jobs similar to this, but not at this scale, or with such a grandiose focus.
Plus you get to work for an organization whose mission is "to accelerate the
development and deployment of solutions which radically advance human
well being and the health of our planet's ecosystems." How much does that rock? It rocks hard.
