The filmmakers behind "The Reckoning," the new documentary about the International Criminal Court, have launched an associated online clearinghouse to support education and outreach about ICC. Called "IJ Central," it promises to :
integrate a multi-platform citizen engagement strategy using online mapping technology to visualize the global justice network through SMS text messaging, aggregating blogs, news feeds, short films and media modules created from The Reckoning footage. As it accumulates content from users engaged with international justice, IJCentral will become an invaluable resource and database for defending human rights around the world, and a powerful action tool.
This part of a three-year campaign to build support around the world for the global tribunal. The actual film "The Reckoning" will be premiering on television in the United States on July 14 on PBS's POV television show. I got to catch a sneak preview of a near final edit of the film earlier this month, and I have to say it surpasses my high expectations of it. Very powerful and convincing work.
