Blog One – Introduction – Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World from Scott Pilgrim The Movie on Vimeo.
Edgar Wright, the director of "Scott Pilgrim Versus the World," has posted the first video post in the production blog for the film. Based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's celebrated indie comic series "Scott Pilgrim," the film chronicles the adventures of Scott Pilgrim, a 25-year old slacker musician, who falls in love with the mysterious Ramona Flowers. In order to keep her, he must vanquish her "seven evil exes" while also gigging with his band.
Fanboys like me and Swifty are super-excited about the film, which is a high-concept mixture of slacker comedy, rock musical, love story, and martial arts adventure. The casting of Michael Cera as the main character could be quite brilliant.
That said, I'm a bit concerned that the first post emphasizes the fight training for the cast. From the comics' main characters, it would really only be Scott Pilgrim, Ramona, and Knives who would be doing any fighting (plus all of the evil exes and Gideon I suppose.) Hopefully this isn't gearing up to be an action movie, with some funny bits and musical interludes.
