Last night Swifty, Arfer and I saw the new "Star Trek" movie at the beautiful Ziegfeld Theater in midtown Manhattan. It was just about the perfect blockbuster movie experience.
Here's some reasons why you should spend $12.50 see it in an actual movie theater (instead of waiting for DVD/Blue-ray, watching it on your iPhone, etc.):
- Trekkers will enjoy all the insider references much more with an audience of a couple hundred other Trekkers
- Zoe Zaldana / Chris Pine will look much yummier in the big screen
- Digital audio surround sound makes the "pew pew" sound effects that much cooler
- It's as bloody great as everyone has been saying it is
I can't wait to see it again!
(We also got to see trailers for many of the summer blockbusters. Movies you probably should not see in the theaters, or really, anywhere: "Transformers II," "G.I. Joe.")
Yup, it was pretty damn awesome. I wish I could see it at IMAX. That would be sweet.
