Vans has come out with a new line of "classic" shoes, cashing in on the retro sneaker fetish that seems to be all the rage. After hitting up the site, and surfing around the retro sneaker blogosphere (yes, this exists), I found a pair that I just had to have: the "Wingtip Era" two-tone sneakers.
It took some internet and phone research, but I finally found a store that sells the Wingtip Era in Manhattan: Classic Kicks on Elizabeth. I jumped on my bike today and rushed down to get pair.
The Wingtip Era is such a sweet combination of old skool sneaker and REALLY old skool spectator styling. Perfect for, uh, lindy hopping in a skatepark or b-boying at a speakeasy.
Retail: $80. Hipster envy: priceless.
