I'm excited to announce that my friends and fellow dancers Heather Flock and Laura Jeffers (along with Felix Pitre and Jessie Patz), are starting up a new lindy hop program at You Should Be Dancing Studios in Manhattan.
Heather has been running our dance lessons at Yehoodi's weekly dance for the past couple of years to great effect, helping support hundreds of new dancers with knowledge and concepts to take their dancing to the next level. And Laura Jeffers is one of the finest dance teachers I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. Both of them emphasize connection, musicality and the "feel" of the dance over simply parroting moves and choreography.
For anyone who has thought about learning swing or wants to improve their dancing, you could hardly do better than learning from Heather and Laura. Classes for beginner and intermediate level dancers begins in March. Contact You Should Be Dancing at info@youshouldbedancing.net, call 212-244-0011, or stop by the studio at 412 Eighth Avenue, 4th floor, near Penn Station in NYC.
