America’s Best Dance Crew Episode 508: The Usher “Yeah Yeah” Challenge

Posted on March 21, 2010 by

America's Best Dance Crew (Season 5) – MTV Shows

The five remaining crews on America's Best Dance Crew episode 508 got to do a really dope challenge, dancing to R&B star Usher's music and dance moves.  It was a great episode, so let's get into the recap:

Jungle Boogie: They had the challenge to do an Usher-style glide, which is pretty damn hard if you can't do it already.  I thought their glides were okay, but not memorable. The open was a bit too hard for the Usher aesthetic, but immediately got smooth and flowy.  Altogether, very clean and dynamic, as usual.

Poreotix: They got the song that I'm sure everyone wanted, "Yeah Yeah."  Really strong open, like they were coming into the club like Usher.  I liked the forward-reverse move the best, and that they are showing their b-boy moves.

TL Truoung Blueprint cru Bluprint Cru: This was the best routine of the episode. Clever formations and really had that Usher smoothness and sexiness.  And can I say that the dancer / crew manager TL Truong is so so hot?  I guess I just did.

Hype 5-0: They had a hard draw, having to dance on heelies!
Ugh. That said, I think they delivered a decent routine.

Saltare: Good showing. Glad they did some dancing, even if it wasn't that great. Not a bad way to go out, for sure.  They did their sport proud.

The producers this season are doing a good job in giving everyone challenges that highlight their strengths, instead of saddling them with moves and props that make them look dumb.  After all, its about getting each crew to deliver entertaining performances that the audience will remember and vote for.
