I'm very excited to announce that the Global Kids Online Leadership Program is looking for a new program associate to join our crack team of digital educators. The job opening begins:
Global Kids, Inc., a New York City based non-profit organization dedicated to transforming urban youth into successful students and global and community leaders, is seeking to fill a full-time staff position as Online Leadership Program Associate…. GK is on the cutting-edge developing best practices in the use of digital media for supporting global youth leadership. Recent projects have focused on digital media like serious gaming, virtual worlds, social media, and mobile technology, with subjects like child sex trafficking, global human rights abuses, and genocide. In addition to our youth-facing work, OLP works to build capacity of other youth-serving educators and institutions, and contributing to the field of digital media and learning.
If you have a passion for serving urban youth, experience with digital media in an education context, and a background in human rights, you might be just what we are looking for!
We are using what we think is a fairly innovative — if unorthodox — application process. We are asking every applicant to create a digital media "tour" of their own personal learning environment — what we call a "Learning Map." We think this is a richer and more interesting way for us to get to know each applicant than a standard resume and cover letter.
Head to olpglobalkids.org for complete information on how to apply.
