I'm excited to be helping organize this screening of a documentary film directed and produced by my friend Nina Froriep next Wednesday. It's going to be a special night, so I hope many folks can come! Here's the official announcement:
Global Kids and Clockwise Productions cordially invites you to a showing of the film “Abraham’s Children,” a new documentary about Muslim youth in America, on Wednesday August 25th at the Global Kids’ Center for Global Leadership in New York City. According to Elan Magazine, director / producer Nina Froriep “elegantly weaves a series of American Muslim children and teenagers’ lives into a work that breaks stereotypes and showcases Islam as it exists and thrives in the New York Tri-State area.” After the film, there will be a Q&A with the director Nina Froriep and youth featured in the film, as well as a very special iftar meal.
The film showing will take place at the Global Kids Center for Global Citizenship at 137 East 25th Street, 2nd Floor, New York City, starting at 7pm. Tickets to the event are only $12 (suggested donation). Space is limited, so please email amira@globalkids.org to reserve your seat or if you have any questions.
Proceeds from the film showing will go to support Global Kids, a NYC-based youth development group that helps urban teens engage with the world through peer dialogues, arts and music programs, social media and travel. To find out more about Global Kids, see http://GlobalKids.org.
