Here's a quick mini-review of SocialCam, the new video sharing mobile app from the makers of Justin.tv, that came out a week or so ago. Generally it's great, and does what it says it will do with no fuss or difficulty.
My main quibble with the otherwise excellent service is that you don't have the ability to access the raw video files after they are uploaded to SocialCam. You can only embed or share a link to them. I asked the folks at SocialCam about whether or not further down the road we might be able to download locally the video files sent to Social Cam. This was the prompt reply from noneother than Justin Kam himself:
This might be something we add — we haven't really considered it fully yet. We have been thinking about saving a copy of the videos to your phone locally as well as uploading to Socialcam.
