Here's a cute video of about 40 lindy hoppers doing the shim sham in (of course) a shopping mall in Singapore. The occasion was the 97th birthday of legendary lindy hopper Frankie Manning, who unfortunately passed away a couple of years ago. I was lucky enough to be there to participate along with visitors from Germany , Australia, the US, and New Zealand!
Since we're in Singapore, we were several hours ahead of most of the rest of the world. Perhaps we were one of the first to do a dance for Frankie on the planet? Many more commemorations were planned in 30-some cities and towns around the world.
Thanks to Sing Lim and the Swingapore dance studio for organizing this awesome celebration of Frankie Manning. Great to see Frankie's legacy living on around the world! We still miss you, Musclehead.
