I just wanted to share the news that December 9th is your last chance to see our baby ostriches at the California Academy of Sciences! If you haven't seen them, they are pretty stinkin cute.
After ostrich breeding season ends, the Academy’s last flock of ostrich chicks are sent to grow up at partner organizations in California. In their place a new interactive display will be installed in the Earthquake exhibit — a multi-player game where our visitors can piece together the landmasses of Gondwana and learn more about how plate tectonics shapes evolution. I'll miss the ostriches, but the game will be a nice way to educate our visitors about earth sciences in a fun way.
