It's kind of hard to believe, but after months and months and months and months of largely fruitless and frustrating searching, I am finally moving into an apartment in San Francisco starting December 15th!
My new place is located in the lovely Inner Sunset neighborhood, just a few minutes by foot from the Cal Academy. It's accessible by multiple public transportation lines, and well-serviced by groceries, restaurants and most anything else you could want. Walking around in the nabe, I wandered past a cute little candy store, a pie shop, a large supermarket, and a charming little street fair.
I really like the apartment, a large-ish one bedroom which should be more than adequate for my and my cat's needs. And the building seems to be well-maintained with a lot of nice amenities like a laundry room, parking, and a shared pool and patio!
I will miss Oakland and the Temescal neighborhood. It's been for the most part a great experience the past 14 months being here. But I won't miss the one hour commute, the annoying neighbors, and the hassle of getting to anything in the city.
I'm so looking forward to running in Golden Gate Park, shopping for groceries in the Asian markets on Irving Street, dancing at "Lindy in the Park" on Sundays, exploring the city, having people over to hang out …
Walking to work! Awesome!
