Here’s a swell pic of my friends Jeremy, Shawn and I right before we performed the “Shim Sham II: Electric Boogaloo.” Or more descriptively, the “B-Boy Shim Sham.”
It was so fantastic getting to perform this piece that has been in my head for at least six months. Jeremy and Shawn were excellent collaborators and performers bringing my vision to life onstage.
The crowd seemed to love it, cheering for the solos, shouting along to the “crossovers” and responding to all of the ways that we adapted the shim sham steps to b-boy moves. Almost immediately people were asking when we were doing it again!
