I’ve been riding my scooter Bella for a few years now, wearing whatever heavy jacket I had available. But none of them were proper riding jackets, built to withstand the rigors of scooting around the city.
Well it was high time I upgraded. After a lot of research and trying on a bunch of cycle jackets, I landed on the Tempeste by Corazzo. So far, I’m a very happy customer.
The Tempeste is a good balance between the practical and the aesthetic. On the practical side, the Tempeste has CE rated armor hidden in the shoulders, elbows and back, and is made with abrasion-resistant nylon coated with a water proof seal. It’s warm enough for your regular chilly San Francisco weather, with a detachable fleece lining for extra cold days and nights. It’s got reflective detailing for more visibility at night.
On the fashion side, it’s got a 60s riding jacket vibe with a slightly tailored waist. It feels fantastic to wear, on and off the bike. I was nervous about the sizing, since I was buying it online. But the medium fits me perfectly.
I’m looking forward to lots of riding in this jacket! And G-d forbid I should take a fall, it’s nice knowing I’ve got more protection of my sensitive bits.
I recommend this jacket if you want to look less like a power-ranger and more like a spy.
